Welcome to San Francisco First Generation and thank you for downloading our debut mini-issue! We created a beautiful and community focused publication with the intent to provide a platform for underrepresented voices while supporting local artists and businesses. The stories are organic and born from the everyday experiences of people who make San Francisco their home.

Our magazine focuses on the first-generation immigrant experience and the cross-cultural perspective; however hope and endeavor are universal. All of our contributors are real people in the community; each voice is distinguishable and uncensored. During production we provide minimal editing to the stories in order to preserve the voice of the author.

This issue has three stories about transition. Each one of us carries experiences and memories from a lifetime; and we use what has been imprinted within to create and influence the world around us. Every immigrant and transplant, in the same way, has shaped our community. We are in love with our city; it is truly unique, the center of innovation and acceptance. We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to share our rich heritage and pay tribute to the people that made it possible.
